From La Prairie Louvain to Ferme Chabanel: a Living Legacy
After several seasons of cultivating urban agriculture in the heart of District Central, La Prairie Louvain is embarking on a new chapter in its history. Initiated by the SDC District Central, the project is now making way for Ferme Chabanel. Led by AU/LAB, the initiative will transform the site into an incubation space for four urban agriculture businesses.
This transition is also accompanied by a concrete gesture of continuity: the perennials from La Prairie Louvain will be transplanted by Polliflora to Bois Urbain and PixMob, two local businesses looking to green their workplaces. It’s a way of giving La Prairie Louvain a new lease of life and spreading its legacy throughout District Central.
Past Event : District Central 5 à 7: Summer Starts Here
Tuesday, May 26 at 4:00 p.m. – Esplanade Louvain
To kick off the summer in style and officially inaugurate Esplanade Louvain, the SDC District Central invites you to a festive 5 à 7 bringing together the entire business community. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate the arrival of the warm season, network with corporate neighbours, and discover the summer programming and new initiatives—all in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
Whether it’s for a lively lunch break, a moment to unwind, or a festive evening, the 2026 summer programming is an invitation to experience District Central to the fullest. Make the most of the public spaces, join the activities, and discover the vibrant energy that brings the neighbourhood to life all summer long.
This programming is an initiative of the SDC District Central, made possible thanks to the support of the Borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville and the City of Montreal. The yoga sessions and DJ nights are presented by Aire commune, the delegated producer for Esplanade Louvain.
Wishing everyone a wonderful summer!
