Summer Programming 2025: Summer Starts Here!
With the arrival of the summer season, District Central is rolling out a dynamic program designed to energize the neighborhood and enhance its appeal. Created to meet the needs of workers, residents and businesses alike, this wide range of activities helps make District Central a stimulating place to live and work. Starting in May, a series of events will be held to encourage connections, relaxation and local vitality.
District Central 5 à 7: Summer Starts Here!
Wednesday, May 28 at 4 p.m. – Esplanade Louvain
To kick off the summer and mark the official launch of the Esplanade Louvain, the SDC District Central invites the business community to a festive 5 à 7. It’s the perfect moment to welcome the warm season, network with your neighbours, and discover what’s new in this summer’s programming—all in a friendly and lively atmosphere. Register here >>
Esplanade Louvain: A Pop-Up Space to Discover
May 18 to end of September – Open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Esplanade Louvain becomes a true oasis in the heart of the neighbourhood. With free Wi-Fi, electrical outlets, picnic tables, and shaded areas, it’s the ideal place for productive meetings, casual breaks, or simply working outdoors. The space is also available for corporate event rentals.
NEW - Terrasses communes: Unwind After Work
Every Wednesday and Friday starting June 4 – 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. – Esplanade Louvain
New this year, the Terrasses communes transform Esplanade Louvain into an after-work hangout every Wednesday and Friday. With ambient music and an on-site bar, it’s the perfect spot for casual networking and relaxing with colleagues in a laid-back setting.
Yoga Breaks: Recenter Your Day
Every Tuesday at 12:15 p.m., starting June 3 – Esplanade Louvain
Recharge with an outdoor yoga session open to all. These classes offer a mindful mid-day pause, right in the heart of the district.
Aire Commune Thursdays: Festive and Unmissable
Every Thursday from May 16 to October 3 – 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. – Esplanade Louvain
Aire Commune returns with its weekly Thursday gatherings, lighting up the district with music, immersive installations, and the iconic golden hour. Thousands join each week to celebrate and unwind.
Swing ton Lunch: Midday Music and Energy
Every Wednesday from June 12 to September 11 – 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. – Place Iona-Monahan
Since 2017, Swing Your Lunch has brought rhythm to your lunch hour. Enjoy live music in styles like swing, blues, and more, while connecting with local businesses showcasing their products and services. A must-attend event for music lovers and curious passersby alike.
La Prairie Louvain: Return of the Iconic Flower Field
Daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. – Esplanade Louvain
A symbol of biodiversity and creative placemaking, La Prairie Louvain is back—along with its signature sunflowers. The 2025 edition features a monumental arch inspired by surrounding architecture, offering an immersive, visual experience. Don’t miss this floral escape in the heart of the city.
Escale: Cultural Encounters in the District
For the past four years, Escale has brought free artistic performances to the streets of District Central. From music and dance to visual arts, these spontaneous events offer inspiring moments of culture and connection across the territory.
